August 2, 2018

KWESST today announced that the company and AeroVironment (NYSE:AVAV), with support from the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) War Fighting Lab, conducted a successful demonstration of the TASCS IFM AWS capability on an AeroVironment drone before a mixed audience from the USMC, the U.S. Army, and Pentagon staff, as well as invited members of industry.

Live fire demonstrations were conducted utilizing a 40mm LV grenade launcher. On display was the TASCS IFM AWS mounted to a 60mm Mortar. CEO Jeff MacLeod commented that “Feedback from users is key to the enhancement of the system at this juncture. It is extremely exciting to see military personnel who have never utilized the system before, engaging targets they cannot see and with unprecedented accuracy.”

Following positive response to the TASCS/AWS 60mm mortar application KWESST now plans to focus on accelerating development of the system to an operational level.
